US Airways talks begin

PITTSBURGH (Tribune-Review) - US Airways begins contract talks with the flight attendants' today in Washington, D.C., and will meet next Tuesday with the Communications Workers Association, which represents ticket gate and reservations agents. Both unions announced last week that they would join the pilots' union in meeting with US Airways, which is seeking $800 million in wage and benefits cuts to avoid possible bankruptcy. A representative of the mechanics' union, the last major holdout, said yesterday that there was no change in the union's position.
