US Airways pilots not flying any higher

Their experience won't count for much under merged company

Former US Airways MEC Chairman Bill Pollock said, The decision "could be the straw the breaks the camel's back" if the national Air Line Pilots Association lets the ruling stand. "Our national union must see that this is corrected before permanent damage is done. ? When you have nothing left to lose, you entertain extreme actions, one of them being kicking (the Air Line Pilots Association) off of the US Airways property."

"The contract is no longer our main focus," said Mr. Gentile, the pilots spokesman. "We are just too busy right now to deal with that." "All avenues," he said, are being considered.

517 East guys on top, wow what a windfall for the East! The West pilots might have to wait up to two years before they have those top spots as well.

Why dont you go fill out your bid sheet, dream about your new widebody flying and leave the East pilots alone for a couple of weeks.

Does anyone on the west get the fact that when push comes to shove SEC 45 or 405 doesn't make a hill of horse manure?

If these guys have a bug as far up as they seem to they can bankrupt the airline and some frankly are of a mindset to do just that or worse create the next Eastern.
Bob - you've got to be kidding.

I would think that the one thing that you would learn from being on these boards for the past few years is that the US pilots will whine and threaten the end of the world over and over, but when it comes time to save their own butt and paycheck, they will give in. I expect the same thing to happen here. Do you really think that guys with less than 5 years until retirement with a gutted pension are going to "burn the place down?"

To retire at 55-60 with just a PBGC pension, it would take at least $2m to maintain a pilot's lifestyle. How many of the pilots have that much saved?
