What may happen next is if you don't join a wellness program your premiums will rise....

The company doesn't run or see this info a third party does. It is just a smart way to try and help control HC cost. Healthier (i.e. less fat) people are better workers and save money. Some companies or using puntive meassures to entice workers to do the wellness thing. I am glad they went the carrot route, BTW I look sweet in my red convertable camero!

I'd really like to believe that, but I trust no one....last year I had an issue with my hearing test, a week later I am getting mail from some doctors office hawking hearing aids..coincidence? My employer did make some phone calls looking into it, but like I said, I trust no one...

yeah , in todays world it's not uncommon for private information to get leaked publicly ...

I think the wellness program is not a bad idea , but still I think an even better idea would be if this company helped it's workers with gym memberships ... There are LA fitness's expanding all over the country ... some sort of half=off program would be awesome ...

I could see a company subsidized gym making real sense.
BTW they cannot share HC info, totally illeagal.

Dunno if anyone ever checks the Wings website under the Discounts section... If you do a little searching theres actually a special gym pricing for US Employees. But c'mon now how many of you are serious about working out anyway?

Yes, if one lives in Pittsburgh, Phoenix, Charlotte, Manhattan or Northern New Jersey, there are discounts.

Ho hum.

I'm still willing to have the company accept billing for my gym membership and personal trainer. They haven't contacted me yet.

with all due respect, are you NOT going to exercise because your employer does not pay for it?

Yes, we'd like for someone to subsidize our workouts but most of us will do it because it is good for us.

There are plenty of things we can do on our own to maximize our health.

BTW, US is following the trend of a lot of corporate provided healthcare plans in becoming more interested in your health and what you do that might increase their risks even if most of us don't see the trend as something we welcome.

You might consider the alternative to corporate sponsored health plans, however

Can't speak for the other work groups, but as a pilot I send the company an update on my health once every six months and the results of an EKG once a year in the form of a first class medical certificate. All on my own dime.(Do get a tax write off for it though) If they want more than that they are out of luck.
