US CREW with IPHONE Question

Question, do any of you fellow USAirways crew members have an IPhone? If so, can FLICA be downloaded on it and does CATREW display properly? I would love to ditch my 5 pound laptop!!! Thanks for the help! Mike :up:
 
I am hardly an expert at these things but you can try to import FLICA to your IPhone.

Have you talked to the Apple folks? How about the tech support at Flightline?

Pc techs, my husband being one, have been slayed with a number of issues with the IPhone and it's so new, no one has a good answer about most of them.

FLICA.NET or Flightline is a crew internet access portal for flightcrew members. We use it as well as a number of other airlines such as Delta to do some of our bidding.

We use it to access our ETB or Electronic Trade Board. We can also access it at home for Catcrew or CATS.

With Catcrew we can do our bidding for trips & vacation as well as view our monthly schedule, flight displays, trip recaps, pay summaries with rigs, sick time accruded and used, bid sheet results(in real time), reserve trip processing(in real time), open trip pairings(in real time)all positions, hour/minute calculator which helps us figure out rig time owed as well as elasped time. And more. It's a workhorse.

It's a wealth of information for us and a great tool. And it never crashes unlike that pitiful Maestro that the West F/A's are having to use.
 
I know I have a mac and Safari has problems with the hub and usaurways.com in general, since I believe the Iphone uses the safari browser the hub probably won't work on it. I don't know about the other application your talking about.
 
I fixed your jets for 16 years. Now I've been fixing the network that your IPhone works on for 7 years. Guess which job pays substantially more! Thanks for the support over the years fellow airmen? As Jimmy Buffett say's - still that #### fly's off the shelves! Had to put something in to think about!
 
iPhone runs the same OS that the full size macs/macbooks run. As such, it runs Safari. If you can access something with Safari on a desktop Mac/MacBook, then you should be able to access it with the iPhone (although a little more scrolling will be involved).

Remember that the iPhone does not use the 3G network for data. So, if you don't have a WiFi connection, the data network the iPhone accesses(EDGE) is a bit slow. Until a newer generation iPhone has a 3G receiver (which is heavily hinted at for next year), I'll have to get along with my Windows Mobile device (that has 3G).

Off topic - with all the complaining about wages and pay, who can afford one?! 🙂
 
My take on all of this is......Internet access should be a <free> given at any hotel we stay at. This includes Europe. I talked to a few crewmembers from Zoom the other night, and amazingly they get FREE internet access from the MAN hotel. If we do it, it costs 8pounds for 24 hours. HELLO UNION!!!!!
 
Usairways.com does not work on my mac. I tried to book a purchase ticket at home for thanksgiving and had to wait till I got to work to book it on a PC. I was told it does not support the Safari browser.

I have a Mac too, you can download Mozilla Firefox browser, that will allow you to access the hub or usairways.com on your Mac. :lol:
 
The Hub only works on mine like every few hours - after it resets my info I guess. If I login to look at something then logout - when I go back say within 3 hours I get the ID and Pass box pop up and when I put my info in. Tthe box pops up again empty: Repeat. I then have to turn the phone off and back on then go back and login and it works. Might have to do something with the cookies the site passes off. Kinda pisses me off when I'm trying to look at loads during a crucial time or need to quick list myself on other flights.
