The U.S. Department of Education (ED) intends to purchase twenty-seven (27) REMINGTON BRAND MODEL 870 POLICE 12/14P MOD GRWC XS4 KXCS SF. One must assume they are looking into our heritage as Americans and have come to the conclusion that our 2nd amendment rights should be passed on into the classroom, right?

Guns for education

Where do you see that this is for classes? Does the Dept of Ed have a 'security' dept?

Police riot shotguns for security with the dept of education???? Since when does that entity directly involve itself in police and or security issues? If you don't find this disturbing, you should. But then again if one never had children or raised them then they would most likely feel indifferent. But if it had something to do with a prayer or a lesbian then some would start to froth about the mouth over it.

From the searching I did it appears the shotguns are for the Office of inspector general (OIG). As far as I am aware, OIG has statutory law enforcement abilities and the weapons are for them. Not sure what the big deal is.

It may be for control in inner city classrooms.

OIG has law enforcement abilities? Prove it!

From the OIG web site: "The mission of the Office of Inspector General (OIG), as mandated by Public Law 95-452 (as amended), is to protect the integrity of Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) programs, as well as the health and welfare of the beneficiaries of those programs."

So they need the police riot shotguns to protect the integrity of Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) programs, as well as the health and welfare of the beneficiaries of those programs.?

And what is missing form that text? Anything referring to "education"!

The Office of Investigations is committed to addressing allegations in an independent and objective manner, conducting criminal, civil and administrative investigations affecting programs and operations, encouraging professional development, and assisting the Department and agencies in preventing, as well as detecting, fraud.

Where is it?

Gar your links are corrupted.

Obviously when investigating medicare theft senior citizens may need to be put down from time to time.

Or could you imagine an audit gone bad?

My goodness, maybe they should give them M-16's?

Looks like every department has an office of inspector general if you know how to google....This brings us back to why do we need riot shotguns for education?
Are they training little children in the Obama Youth Brigade or what?
