The Charlotte Chamber makes an annual fact finding trip to different cities. This year it was London. The whole trip was cancelled due to a flight cancellation..

I understand US did end up ferrying another plane to LGW for the return. It departed CLT PHL at about 4:00 AM.

US Airways has the uncanny ability/Luck to have more incidents like this then most airlines.

What were they supposed to do? Take off so a bunch of scumbag crony capitalist politicians could spend your money while risking the lives of 200 plus additional everyday folks?

It was a nice gesture that Doug apologized and I think it was appropriate in this case.

It just seems to me that if there is a PR nightmare in search of a home it lands on US Airways doorstep.

I agree. It is annoying that politicians get front page news when their flight cancels for good reason. Had the flight been 10 doctors on their way to do charity work somewhere, no one in the press would have cared one whit.

That is so true! One of the main purposes of this trip was to determine whether or not CLT would be able to host the Olympic games! What an absolute waste of money this was going to be!
