U''s Propaganda

I believe that U will seek to contract out some work but nothing major. All internet bookings support and reissues for them would be handled by Travelocity or others. They would reduce RES a bit due to that but nothing too dramatic.

If they did try to contract out all our work to other companies, they know there would be absolutely no reason for these unions to support this company from that day on. That means that they would certainly call for immediate strikes. This company couldn't handle a strike just by customer service much less by mechanics. They would have to move right over to liquidation the day after we walked or maybe that afternoon. That is such a clear probability that the company has no reason to choose that option right now.

They'll certainly take the longer route if their goal is to get rid of all of us. They'll contract out a little here and a little there over a long period of time. Then, they could handle a customer service strike. As far as mechanics are concerned, I doubt they'll ever try to get rid of inhouse maintenance period. Maybe contract out certain things or certain areas of the country but never get rid of it entirely. So, long term customer service is in this boat by themselves.
