Once the revenue-accounting and consumer-affairs divisions are transferred to Tempe, the airline will have about 772 employees in the Triad. That includes 621 at its reservations center off Hanes Mall Boulevard and its staff at Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro.

Gee said that although the local reservation center is "operationally critical" to US Airways, the airline has not made a final consolidation decision on the division.

They suck.

If you are working in the Triad, pack your cube.. You are moving to Tempe..

The Triad is Toast.. Followed by PIT maintenance..

Good, at least I will end up getting something for the last 20 years.

Sadly, this should come as no surprise to anyone.......America West has been hiring in reservations like crazy lately, and the Winston office is adding, what 30? Just a bandaid..

My guess, June of 2006.

Given the extraordinary humility shown on this board by "us west" (whoever thought that up has ancestors that started the Civil War, and they don't live in North Carolina anymore). A house in Winston-Salem just isn't as good as a manufactured home in the desert.

I don't think that any of the employees in INT RES (active and eary outs/retired) would be surprised to see the office closed. In INT the pay is considerable higher with still a lot of high seniority (from what is said here)compared to PHX or RNO Res. This is just another item of angst for those still in INT to handle. What I still don't understand, and maybe one day will...with under 800 employees how do they justify 5 managers of res, 1 manager of hr, 1 regional director? And additional spvrs were added to the reduced headcount. 🙄
:ninja: Just curious:How do the US west offices compare in numbers of manager/spvrs to headcount?

This is my first ever post, but I wish INT the best...I work in PIT res and it was so sad when it closed. I could have gone to INT but knowing what was in the future.... I would have never made that move. INT are the best group of people I ever worked with. They are wonderful people. 🙂 I am sure they thought in their minds that this may happen. My son lives in AZ and if I were in the position to transfer, I am sure I would have gone to INT. then I could have tranfer to Tempe. I knew this would happen but not quite so soon. I really wish the best to my former US Airways family. I just love INT people in res and other departments I worked with.

No offense to those in INT. My post was sarcasm. Really tired of the "west" crew promoting divisions and telling the majority to be like us because "we are so cool". Cool means you don't have to tell anyone how "cool" you are.

do you people at usairways reservations shut down your call center in san salvador in obersvation of the annual running of the bulls?

pitresgirl,

tempe has no int department. every agent in the tempe based building is int trained. if you were to relocate to tempe and work under mr parkers sweatshop your starting pay would be 7.65 per hour.

I think that she was referring to int-Winston and what you are saying is Intl-International. I could be wrong tho.

Every agent in INT is INTL trained, or just about, however, ask a newly trained agent about *A bookings, and I know West hasnt had to do the RTW bookings yet. East's Rate dept has so much depth in it as far as employees who have extensive knowledge and that can not be replaced overnight.

The question to look at is what happens when the CWA contract expires in 2011?

INT is not the same as INTL. This is a great example of many agents still not knowing each others' city codes. Winston city code - INT. a department that is not really existent within the res centers - INTL.

the concern here from the original stream is that the INT Res Center may or may not be around. IMO, the company should have a res center someplace other than PHX. Rumors have been all over for a long time about RNO Res closing also. Last winter, RNO experienced a nasty storm which closed the center and all calls were routed to PHX. What if, at some point, PHX experiences the same...we need a center elsewhere to route calls. And, IMO, bring all that outsourced back in...whether it comes to INT or RNO or PHX, please, bring them back!! I know that those agents in outsourced areas are doing a job but let's do two things...bring it to the United States and support our own AND bring it to our company!

regarding $...at HP, if you are working a specialty desk, there is a premium added to your base hourly rate...not that it's fabulous money, but it's there if you choose a specialty desk.

the PHX Res center has approx 1 director, 4 managers, 30 supvs (or team leads) and then the agents.

lastly, adding staff in PHX Res...there is almost 100% turnover each year, so adding staff is almost solely backfilling those that have bailed or were terminated. while there are agents who've been around since the beginning (22 years), the majority are less than 3 years.
