The fact that such people can get elected in the first place is further proof that the American people are not ready for self-government. When the Greeks invented democracy, they assumed an educated electorate. We allow people to vote simply because they didn't die before the age of 18.

And, need I remind you that more people voted in the last American Idol final than have ever voted in a U.S. Presidential election?

It's why I'm a divine right royalist. You put one person in charge. They rule by the grace of God and are totally responsible for everything. If they screw up, you chop off their head, and hire their cousin from Germany. It worked beautifully in Great Britain for centuries.
