I am trying to be very optimistic
in this airline industery; but WalMart, one of the nation's largest retailers is having problems that is tugging on my optimism

"The business is being run by bean counters. I am shocked at the Spartan level of staffing," said Flickinger, managing director of Strategic Resources Group. He added, "There are also morale issues. Workers feel that the company is taking care of itself."

It appears this same disease is running unchecked in Delta. I would have posted this observation on the Delta InfoExchange but it has been removed.

Yes, the infoexchange has been removed to keep employees from talking to each other. Communication is a powerful tool. DAL must control the information.

The aviation industry has been "WalMartized". Unfortunately, America has sold it self out to the "bottom line". People (passengers) should not complain, how can they expect first class service with low class fares? I think the flying public expects too much. If you want first class, pay for it.

After all, who says you have a "right" to fly anywhere? Take the bus, train, or drive your own dam* car or better yet, fly your own dam* airplane!!!

So I say to the flying public...shut up and take your seat, you are getting what you paid for and wanted...cheap seats and no frills. Enjoy your flight! Hahahahaha!

To all of us airline employees, my regrets to what has happened to the airline industry.

Removing the infoexchange is the lamest thing Delta has ever done to us. There was so much really good information on there. Agents where able to ask other agents for help and the non-rev section was great but now its all gone and for what? Chats that will probably happen just once a month. Very very stupid IMHO. The infoxchange was one of the main ways we as employees banded together and now its been taken away. Bad move Delta.

You're welcome to invite your fellow DL agents to join USAviation where you can carry on posting whatever was taken away by DL.

I agree, I found loads of great infomation, esp the non-rev section. I didn't care for the fellow employee bashing during the bankruptcy time. That was unfortunate.

DAL doesn't want us to band together that much, that is why they took it away. Knowledge is power.

Besides, the new site Bizexchange is so poorly constructed. Some of the tabs aren't even operating. I was not sure what the intent was. Do they want feedback or what? I would be very careful about answering any of what they want. Could get fired. But on the other hand you could get promoted!

It is a really strange format. Looks like they were in a hurry to shut it down and didn't have time to develop a decent site. Maybe they (DAL) didn't like to hear some of the remarks on the forum? Some made sense, some was pure rubbish, some was funny. But that is what makes the world an interesting place to live and work.

Perhaps DAL employees will find this website. Where there is a will, there is a way!

I thnk they shut it down very quickly because of what had happend on the boards this past week. If you followed the board you know what im talking about (the FMLA thing). Seams that really angered the powers that be and they shut it down over the night and throw together this BizXchange thing. Its so very poorly put together, and f they had really been planning this why hasnt anymore of the info they are talking about putting up been put up yet.

Hopefully some of the InfoXchange regualrs will find it here. But I dont think it will be the same.

I think you may be right about the whole FMLA thing. A certain flight attendant had a family member with a serious illness and was unable to receive a FMLA because this family member wasn't a spouse or child. She happened to voice her concerns on the ACS Employee forum with regards to this issue. This was about as hard a working/dedicated employee as Delta could ever hope for, yet she was denied FMLA to help take care of a seriously sister because she was not "immediate family". If brothers/sisters don't qualify as immediate family then i think we're all in trouble. Shame on Delta. A little compassion goes a long ways in this crazy world.

It was more then the FMLA thing - alot of the posting on the infoexchange lately had become very derogatory towards alot of people...I agree those posts should have been pulled as they were not constructive, but pulling the whole thing was not necessary..

And I hope that some of the folks that used to post on the infoexchange dont start posting the same crap on here...it is one thing to have internal squabbles, but posting the family dirty laundry for all to see on the open internet is not a good thing...

For those of you that enjoyed the nonrev part of the infoexchange a good forum that I have found is http://nonrev.net (there is no www in addy)..it has a forum on it, and has some good posts on it...kinda small and slow activity but would be a good reference point..

I know it was more then the FMLA thing, thats just what seemed to set things off to getting the board shut down. It had gown down hill lately. It seamed like a lot of new people had discovered the boards. But thanks for the link to the nonrev site. I will check that out.

I wondered the same thing about the FMLA. Just goes to show you they don't want a union. DAL doesn't want employees to "band" together. It is all about controlling information. I am not crazy about unions, but they sure can be useful when it comes to work rules and protecting any FAA licenses, if you have them. Wouldn't DAL just shi* if the employees had union? But it will never happen.

On another note, DAL seemed to read the boards. Where are they going to get employee gossip from now.

I would suggest to not answer any of those lame questionnaires or forms they so poorly put together.

Let them eat cake! HA!
