Mr. Parker addressed five AWA groups May 9th. Fleet/Mechanics/PAX/Fleet/Inflight. He brought nothing with him but himself. No stats! He listened and responded eloquently. He listened and understood and related to AWA employees. The range was everything West is and does. He responded, knowingly, that AWA employees have pulled their weight and they have a strong interest.
All meetings that resulted in a long day seemed to attach a topic that paralleled every group. AWA Loyal Employees have not been adequately recognised.
My question is,Now, How will the Board of Directors reward Loyalty, on the West Side of the equation. This will only be subject to Fleet West and Mechanics West.

It seems no one is interested with the west side. Or, AWA is really expecting something to come from the result of May 9th. We will see.

i dont think anything will come for us on the west with this meeting , but one can always hope .

Freedom. After what became of the Arbitrator decision for pilots, The Company and IAM, dang, well come to a, dang, good decision for West and East in a hurry. Sept. might be the safest place to put this mess. Look what it did for the pilots. No, arbitrator is going to look favorably at companies that made a mess from the start. It's time the company "Tows the Line" and cleans up their own house. And, they might better make it look good for BOTH SIDES or they will have to deal with the "little concerned" so called "nuetral arbitrator". This country is getting away with too few greedy and the old men who lived before are going to straiten it out before it's given away.

The pilots arbitration results have nothing to do with the IAM or any other union on the property.

The IAM always uses Dovetailing for seniority, the IAM has no case against anyone for seniority, and the pilots arbitration was in an internal union matter, the company had nothing to do with its outcome.

And the facts in each arbitration cases will settle it, nothing else influences the decision.

The same way they have rewarded everyone else for their loyalty. A big old bonus for Doug.

You have to get out of the mindset of East and West, that is the first thing.

And the BOD and Management will not reward anyone in this company, except management, loyalty? You should loyal to your coworkers, not the company. The West was traditionaly the bottom feeders of the industry in pay and benefits. Now the East has the dubious title because of your CBAs in the industry and two chapter 11 filings.

The mindset you need to be in is that you are now one workforce, not east not west, just US Airways.

Your focus needs to be not fighting amongst yourself, (just look at the Pilots for that) your focus needs to be working by the book and force management (who thinks you are the enemy) to give you a fair CBA.

The company plays you all perfectly (divide and conquer) and you fall right into their hands.

700. Our situation gearing up for an arbitrator has very much to do with paralleling the pilots. Yes, their' is senority and ours is contract/Snap-Back. But East IAM wants it so bad, that it will take an Arbitrator in Sept. to weigh in and may very well hand Fleet/Mechanics something the way the pilots got Blindsided. That's my point. The Company will now be dealing with seemingly greater, angst, disgruntled LOYAL employees from NOT dealing a fairer integration. An Arbitrator has no personal gain. And see' it their way and makes tough decisions, not always seen as fair. But, it makes the company look like "a fairy Godmother".
