What's new

Who would like to answer this difficult question?

Ahem......Market was closed when He left.
I'm just curious. How many of these many jobs are paying $20.00 per hour, with good (available medical benefits) and a good retirement plan ? (God forbid a defined pension plan).

Most are offering 10-12 and on up...some with minimum group healthcare.....you want a Cadillac, go to the right dealer.....spare me your socialist BS.

So are you saying that the autoworkers and steelworkers were hoping Trump would create a bunch of $12 an hour jobs and that's why they voted for him?

Tell me how you justify blaming the job market on ONE man?

I have told you this MANY times but obviously you are too dense to get it.

Government cannot force the private sector to create jobs. They certainly can't dictate wage and benefits. What they can do is create opportunity for them to create jobs. Tax cuts are one way to provide those opportunities.

Creating jobs costs MONEY. It cost MONEY to build factories and distribute products. It cost MONEY to provide equipment. It cost MONEY to train people.

Trump has done his best to give them that opportunity. What they do with it is on them.

What do YOU think Trump should do? Go to these factories and demand they pay their employees 25 an hour, offer a pension, 10 holidays ,and 6 weeks of vacation a year?

Government can't tell business...but companies just got a yuge tax cut, and Trump and the republicans said that this meant "jobs jobs jobs". Rather than creating a lot of "good paying" jobs, companies have used 1 trillion (with a t) in stock buybacks. That doesn't create jobs.

Also...if you were a Michigan autoworker and Trump campaigned on "bringing back jobs", do you think that they meant $12 an hour jobs bussing tables at a restaurant?

You asked me a question and I gave you my answer.

Trump did what he could to encourage investment opportunities that would result in jobs.

I have nothing more to say on the subject.

"What do you think President Trump should do" ? Well, all I can say is what I should do, and that is, (to) "Pay no attention to the Man Behind the Curtain" !

The stock market had an astounding peak day on Sept. 20th with the Dow-Jones closing at 26,657. The stock market closed at noon ET today at 21,792 a drop of 18.25% since 9/20. One commentator on CNBC (the business channel) said that it was the worst December for the stock market since 1931 in the depths of the Great Depression.

Now the Donald has taken personal credit for every dollar the stock market has gone up since he took office. Do you suppose he will accept the blame for the losses since September, or will he find someone to blame--like a computer nerd in the Federal Reserve offices??? What say ye?
You would be an idiot to think this doesn’t have an affect.

However, you are leaving out the information that Janet Yellen who was Fed Chief during Obama's Presidency, and who was opposed to interest rate increases, was replaced by President Trump. Reason: He thought she was too short. (As if her height made any difference in her job performance.)

The current Chairman is Jerome Powell, who was sworn in on February 5, 2018 and is the guy who has been raising the interest rates. He was nominated to the position by President Donald Trump on November 2, 2017, and was later confirmed by the Senate.

Would you care to re-think your "controlled by unelected unaccountable Globalist banking families" accusation? Or, are you saying that the Trump family is a Globalist banking family?

He is saying having a President that has gone bananas has no influence on the economy. To say otherwise is heresy.

Trump and the Republicans gave corporations a huge tax cut, and the promised that this would create jobs and increase pay. It was even called the Tax Cut and Jobs Act. To the Trump supporter, this was him keeping his campaign promise..well...at least half of it. What they got was a tax cut, but rather than create jobs or increase pay, companies did over a trillion dollars in stock buybacks, which create zero jobs.

The tax cut was supposed to bring this money overses back to the US....the tax cut was suppose to let companies keep more of their profits. That SHOULD mean that companies would use this newfound cash to do SOMETHING. But they bought back stock. But that's okay...you guy got about an $1800 tax cut yourself. Who knew Americans could be so easily bought.

And again...I was responding to a post about "help wanted " signs all over town...proof positive that jobs are being created. But I've never seen a "help wanted" sign posted outside a Fortune 500 company. I've never seen a "help wanted" sign in front of an auto plant or steel mill. And I believe that the people in Michigan and Ohio who voted for Trump based on his promise of jobs were thinking more along the lines of the jobs that they lost - you know, they guy who was being paid $75 per hour to put a bumper on a car (he never was paid that btw) and not a $12 an hour job as a fry cook at a fast food restaurant.

Tax cuts to small business have created the job signs I mentioned.

Please no waa waa about autoworkers busing tables....union wages and you have to take out a mortgage to buy a new car??

Obama bailed and extended the death of an already outmoded, out paced US auto industry. They should have let them go full BK and you wouldn't still be feeling today's delayed pain.
