I have heard mechanics referring to getting their A&P as getting their ticket. Is that slang or is it a technical term?
Just curious.

Slang for FAA Aircraft & Power Plant Licenses.------ There was a time when you couldn't get in the door to work on an Aircraft without a "ticket"., or A&P. license.La Li Lu Le Lo said:I have heard mechanics referring to getting their A&P as getting their ticket. Glenn Quagmire said:The A&P "ticket" is a slang term used by some. We used to call it your ticket to learn how to work on aircraft, since just getting the certificate and ratings, simply allows you to be able to sign logbooks and maintenance releases. It means you have met the minimum qualifications and passed the written and practical exams.
What? All I got was 10ft. of flight line!delldude said:Mine came with a complimentary bottle of propwash.
