One of my closet friends recently had lunch with President Obama. So my question is this,

If you and your significant other were invited to lunch with a sitting President whose views you don't share, would you accept the invitation?

ME? I'd go in a heartbeat.

I do not think I would break bread with one I did share views with much less one I do not. The only president I kind of respect is Carter but he is still a politician and I do not trust anything a politician says, even Carter. I would not believe a word that came out of their mouth so why bother? Sure you get to go to the WH and see a few things but I do not think it would be worth it.

I'd much rather sit down with the likes of John Glenn, Steven Hawking or JRR Tolkin (were he still alive). At least they actually made a contribution to the world.

Yes ! Always said Nobama sounded like a guy I'd have a beer with, just wouldn't want to discuss politics................wouldn't be a pretty sight !

Judging from the pics she shared the event looked pretty scripted. Looked doubtful that anyone got any 1 on 1 time. It was a luncheon for minority contractors of which she was one of several. Big photo op in many ways.

It would depend on what they are serving. If it was one of Michelle's healthy meals maybe not. Just kidding, who wouldn't want to meet with one of the most powerful and influential people in the world. I disagree with a lot of what he is doing but it would be a chance of a lifetime.
