Interesting exercise but I don't know enough about all the details of some of the ideas.
One thing I noticed that is missing from the survey and from the national conversation is to reduce the cost of some of the services. The cost of health care needs to be addressed and I think could yield substantial savings. Military contracts. They need to be more competitive and the contractor needs to deliver what they say they would when they said they would and for the price contracted. Road repair. How long and how many people does it take? I think there is a lot of stuff that could be cut on the cost end and I don't know why it is not being addressed.
I came up about $5 million short on the 2030 short fall. The break down was about 33% spending cuts and 67% tax increases.
