150 FSCs to be hired and trained at JFK, and to be completed within the next six weeks.

Does anyone have any guesses, as to why, so many and so fast ?

Same reason they are upgrading folks at AFW.....to get "YES" votes on the next T/A. Then they will be promptly laid off

I hear there will be a substantial increase in flights out of JFK.

Yes, but probably not by AA. Could be ground handling for oneworld and codewhore partners.
