Not a terrible result given the recession and the rough winter weather that caused havoc with the schedules. Perhaps the DL/NW merger will eventually result in a profitable airline:

As an unwilling shareholder and ex-non-picket line crossing striking employee, I am happy for the non-picket line crossing workforce that this loss has a silver lining. I expect some charges to be taken due to the Iceland volcano for this quarter.

We will see if the force majeure is called. I don't think Delta wants to piss of the union supporters by pulling that rabbit out at this point.
