AA Q2 earnings of $1.6 billion

AA reported second quarter pre-tax earnings of $1.6 billion, excluding special items:

Delta's comparable earnings were $1.7 billion, while UA's Q2 earnings were $1.4 billion. Overall, Delta is beating AA on just about every metric, including yield and PRASM. Spirit is definitely inflicting some pain on AA at DFW and elsewhere.

AA's second quarter results included an accrual of $98 million for profit sharing ($73 million accrued for the first quarter).
