JetBlue, AirTran Announce New Service

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Low-cost carriers JetBlue Airways and AirTran Airways separately announced new service routes on Wednesday, adding yet more destinations to their respective rapidly expanding networks.
New York-based JetBlue said beginning in June it will have daily nonstop service between New York and San Jose, California. It also said in May it will become the only carrier to provide a Boston-Oakland route.

AirTran Airways said in June it will begin new daily nonstop service from Boston to Akron-Canton Regional Airport in Ohio and Williamsburg International Airport in Virginia.

Four-year-old JetBlue will also begin flying passengers nonstop between Washington, D.C., and Sacramento in early May.

JetBlue, which is awaiting federal approval to begin international flights to the Dominican Republic, said it also plans to expand its service from Washington D.C. to Oakland and Long Beach, California.
