well they could probably make a condition of the acquisition/merger the same as the way alg was forced into pdt

straight acceptance of their cba as is (awa's in this case)

That doesn't change the seniority. Every airline has pay scales for all levels of seniority, the more senior, the higher the pay... would you rather take on 10,000 new employees at the topped out pay scale, or hire new peeps off the street at the lowest of the payscale?

The way you quoted my post is misleading. My speculation is the idea of US Airways being involved in a merged America West-ATA.

The America West/ATA deal is all over the news, first reported Wednesday night by the Wall Street Journal.
