A Viagra sponsored A319....interesting concept!!! If the flight gets over-sold? A simple buff and polish could turn it into an A321 Presto !!!! :D

Im sure nearly all of you have heard about HP's selling of advertising on tray tables. My Question is, do you all think that this managment will stoop that low for a few extra bucks? I certainly hope not but Im sure someone at CCY is thinking that it might just be the savior of this company. I know that a few weeks ago the subject of selling advertising on IFE, but I think this is certainly different and just plain tacky. What do you all think?

I just hope you aren't too disappointed.

Take a look at the pictures on this thread, you'll see that the ads are pretty nice. When they first let US West employees know that they were going to do this, the &*(% hit the fan. They brought a tray table into the check in room with these ads and everyone made fun of them, were pissed off, couldn't believe how low we would stoop etc,. However...these ads look great!! They really dress up the tray table a lot, they don't look as dirty, they add color, people seem to like them. Now when you pull down a naked tray table, it looks boring and not real nice. Give them a chance US East and you'll like them too, some of the ads are really creative and nice. I believe each a/c brings anywhere between $3000-$5000. HP finds creative ways to bring in extra revenue, you have to give them credit for that. They are willing to think outside of the "box" in this case "legacy box" and really try to keep a full service airline with costs in check. Remember the travel gift cards? HP was the first to offer them...and now Southwest if offering them. Simpler fare structure? Now others have adopted the same concept. Buy on board? Others have followed suit after the publicity we got from that. The list goes on and on. For skeptics, it's crazy, fot non-skeptics, it worth the risk.

If it makes money for the company then that would be the indicator for the company that it is a good thing. :)

I've worked a few of the the planes with the verizon ads, and I have to say I like it. The tray tables look cleaner and if it's making money for us well all the better. :)

It looks ok...it won't cost the passengers or employees anything -- I'm all for it -- it's a idea to make $$$$ - I can't believe some would complain ...it's a new world out there for the airline industry - I say go for it.

WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN?

"This management"? Come out from under the rock. There is one management and it is in Tempe, Arizona and the CEO is Doug Parker.

CCY? She's an overpriced lameduck facility waiting to close in the very near future. THERE IS NO POWER IN CCY.

Until this industry is on solid ground, stoop to whatever level. This is about survival. I say advertise on the coffee cups. Do whatever it takes to preserve our jobs and pay. You think a advertisement on a tray table is tackey after all the tackey decisions we at US East have gone through?

America West has been doing it for awhile. It's nothing new.

Dude, look at the date! You are responding to a two-year-old post.

Why the hell is someone dredging up a thread from two years ago?

Our planes could look like Nasscar's. People in CLT would love it.

And so would people from, BOS, LGA, MIA, BDL, MCI, DFW, IAH, LAX, SFO, TPA, PVD, MEM, BNA and on and on.

Come out to the CLT ticket counter for two days after the charlotte races and look at the extra long ticket counter lines. Look at all the Hats, t-shirts, and jackets with nascar drivers on them. Racing may be born in
CLT but its appeal is nationwide. Also meet a flt coming from a city where the race was held that weekend and you will see the fans unloading headed to their various cities. Piedmont was on to something when they were "The official airline of Nascar". (and im not a nascar fan)

Someone went to the wayback files this morning on a couple of posts. If you are going to go that far back to quote something, please start a new topic and just post with a link so people who want to check out the "old" debate can and those who want to be current dont have to read thru pages of old items. There is a more recent thread discussing this same topic, but its probably on page 30 already and I dont have time to find it. Thanks.
