Delta Air Lines Announces Nonstop Service Between Honolulu and Atlanta

Isn''t it about time that ALPA and mgnt decided to play nice so DAL could start this flight up again?
 
Plane will be a 764...except for the first month when the plane will be a 763.

Unfortunately with DL''s config of the 764, this could be a pretty miserable 9 hour flight.

What is wrong with the 767-400? I have never been on one. Does Delta cram them in like sardines or something?

DL''s 767-400s are configured F36/Y251. The L-1011s that used to do the ATL-HNL nonstops were F32/Y270. Doesn''t seem any worse than before.
 
I''ve flown Delta''s 767-400 in both cabins and I think it is a pretty good airplane. F/C seats are reasonably comfortable and the in-seat videos games are great! Y/C has a 2-3-2 configuration which is far better then the L1011''S 2-5-2. Overhead bins throughout the aircraft are plentiful and spacious. No complaints here.
 
Coach in the 764 is pretty much the standard DL Coach....tight.

However, First in the 764 is truly pathetic. The F seats have a 39" pitch and if the person in front of you reclines, they are basically in your lap.

Don''t get me wrong, the 764 is good for high-density short haul flights, but for long-haul service, it''s not very comfortable. Nor is it competitive with the likes of CO which uses BusinessFirst on their flights to Hawaii.

Agreed! I flew F on a packed 764, morning FLL-ATL run. After sitting down, I was asking myself, "This is F?". Truly pathetic, and I''m glad the upgrade was free.
