Bears our world influence is not the result of our military.
Our world influence is a result of the world trading in our currency.
That is the real reason we are at odds with China right now. They want other countries to trade in their currency and that is a direct threat against United States dominance. We are basically in a stand off with China that neither one of us can win because our economy drives theirs and they own our debt.

First Norway. (And as an OIL MAN' from OK, You SURE as HELLL can Dig' This) (and 'this' can be said of any OIL RICH place in the world)
Norway's Rainy-day fund is the envy of every country in the world, simply because of the NORTH SEA (Oil).
As you further know, Norway's Oil production, these last(very few years) is 'OFF'. This has forever been a cyclical fact of the industry, again, as you Know. The Oil in the North Sea isn't going anywhere, and will rebound.
As for Iceland,Denmark and the Netherlands, what oil they have is miniscule, compared to the Home of the Vikings !

What jumped out at me about the Iceland article, was the Nurses were heading to NORWAY, for twice the pay !!!
