Not exactly correct sir. The Florida Court ordered the re-count. The US Supreme Court said that for all the constraints to be put into place to ensure a fair standard applied to all the ballots, there was not enough time for the count to take place.

So I was a bit off in my earlier recollection that the Gore team stopped the count because there was not enough time, the US supreme court stopped the third re-count because there was not enough time.
