Greg Hall resigned because he could see the line maintenance going down hill and an unending battle with disgruntled employees.

Only Smart Man at AA!

I dont know who will replace Mr. Hall but I fear he is in over his head.

s80dude,
Mr. Hall was one of the fortunate ones in that his retirement was fully vested in the package that cost Carty his job.

I only had the opportunity to talk with the man once, but the experience was refreshing. He was frank, personable and did not sugar coat the message.

I wish him well. For those of us in M&E that remain, his departure may well be an ill omen.

Greg Hall came from EAL.

He knows what happens when a company declares war on its employees.

Wretched Wrench,
Sorry that your experience with Hall came out different from mine.

In addition to sepaking with him one on one- he came down to the line ready room and for about an hour, fielded any and all questions from the guys. During and afterwards, nothing he said has been shown as untrue.

As for why he left, I think Bob Owens may be more right than wrong.

No, the chief engineer was bribed into leaving one ship for another. The only lifeboat he''ll have is whatever the judge in the UAL bankruptcy court will allow him to have.

This wasn''t a retirement. He quit to go to work for a competitor, therefore, no severance is due.
