Watch this interview with Ed Whitacre, GM CEO. Mentions how employees are greatest assets. You would think that AA would try an emulate that same style to make AA a success, instead of the opposite. Alaskan, Jetblue, SWA, Delta, all successful airlines, all airlines that treat their employees well. Just because you can take advantage of your employees doesn't mean you should.

AA was the last to go chapter 11. DL,CO,UA,and US all went #11, some twice. The economy,meaning the recession,the spike in oil and terrorism all led to what we have in the airline industry today. Bringing Crandall back as some have suggested would have no effect. That was then, this is now.
Its hard for all to get used to the new normal,the past is gone and not coming back so it means dealing with the world as it is today. I am leery of Parker as US has some of the lowest pay scales and their FF program lags AA AAvantage program.
We now wait for all the rumors to die down and see just what the real details are.
