Does anyone who has interviewed for a pilot position lately have an idea what the average qualifications were of the applicants being interviewed for pilot jobs were? I have heard that they have over 16000 applicants on file but I am wondering if I have a shot or not. I feel I am fairly well qualified but would love to hear from someone who has been to an interview recently or is involved in their training process.

Thanks in advance

Last count was 4,200+ applications on file. It may be pushing 5,000 by now, but I doubt it is anywhere near 16,000. We interview about 70 every 2 months with about 40-45 going on to Phase II for classes of 20-22 per month. We get the best qualified applicants from within groups (i.e. cargo, military, commuters, corporate, previous airlines, etc.). Your competitiveness depends on how you stack up against the other applicants in your category. If you can get called for the interview, you have all the qualifications (on paper) that we want. The rest is up to you.
