MAY 8--A group of Islamic radicals conspired to kill U.S. servicemen at New Jersey's Fort Dix Army base, but the plot was disrupted when the FBI infiltrated the cell with two paid informants. The terror plan is detailed in the below FBI affidavit, which was filed today in U.S. District Court in Camden, where the six plotters have been charged with planning to kill military members. According to the affidavit, investigators began probing the cell last January, when a video store worker contacted them after a customer brought a DVD to be duplicated. The DVD showed 10 young men "Shooting assault weapons at a firing range in a militia-like style while calling for jihad and shouting in Arabic 'Allah Akbar' ('God is Great')." Within six months, the FBI had placed two cooperating witnesses within the terror cell, and both recorded meetings and phone conversations with the plotters. Along with eyeing Fort Dix, members of the group allegedly surveilled the Lakehurst Naval Air Engineering Station and Fort Monmouth in New Jersey, Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, and a Coast Guard building in Philadelphia. They also reportedly considered an attack timed to the annual Army-Navy college football game in Philadelphia. One of the charged conspirators, Serdar Tatar, was familiar with Fort Dix because his family owns a pizzeria nearby and he had delivered food there. Tatar allegedly obtained a map of the military base and provided it to his cohorts. The wannabe jihadists often viewed terror training videos, clips featuring Osama bin Laden, and a tape containing the last will and testament of at least two of the 9/11 hijackers. They also viewed tapes depicting armed attacks on U.S. military personnel and erupted in laughter when one plotter noted that a Marine's arm was blown off in one such ambush. The affidavit notes that the group recently trained at a firing range in the Poconos (where they rented a house in Gouldsboro, Pennsylvania). In a conversation recorded last month by one FBI informant, alleged conspirator Dritan Duka spoke about the need for secrecy. "I got five kids so I don't wanna go down," said Duka, who added that were he to be caught, people might think, "I'm a terrorist." (20 pages)

Not sure about the conspiracy part but you do seem to be painting with quite a broad brush on the latter part.

Not sure how radicals of any segment of society become representatives of the whole. The Pope was a prick during WW II. Does that make all christians pricks? My mom was a horrible driver, does that make all women bad drivers? If so, who will tell Shirley Muldowny (sp) and Danika Patrick?

There are nut cases in all segments of society. To designate them as emissaries is ludicrous. Yes there are parts of the Koran that are violent. Then again, there are parts of the Bible that o not exactly merit a warm and fuzzy feeling either. It's a mater of interpretation. Some people skip a few chapters and some people are pissed off to begin with and use it as an excuse to go on a rampage.

Religion is neither peaceful or combative. It is what people make it.

BTW, we have a muslim working up here in Crew Skd. Seems like a nice guy (although I'm sure that's a act to lull us in to a sense of complacency before he blows us all up). Should I call HLS to have them pick him up? I guess they will have to pick up his 5 kids and wife as well. Better safe than sorry right?

IMO, This could have been very ugly. I'm glad someone was alert enough to alert authorities, and they were able to apprehend those responsible, before anyone was harmed.

This is totally being blown out of proportion for public relations purposes by an administration who is desperate for some tangible results in its war against terror. All we have is a bunch of ne'er do wells who in 17 months could not have even gotten hold of the necessary weapons to carry out their conspiracy. This is not exactly Al Qaeda.

I agree.

One or two horrible incidents regading Immigrants of the peace loving faith could raise "Bill the Butcher" from the dead.

Well of course, please forgive me it completely slipped my mind with all those other religions that are running around causing mayhem in the world. you know how those pesky christians are involved in mass suicide bombings and beheadings on a grand scale and the such.

It is the Islamic faith that has waged a Jihad against all non muslims, it is written and commanded in they're Holy books such as the Qur'an and Hadith. perhaps you should educate yourself about its teachings before you reply on its behalf.

Religion is neither peaceful or combative. It is what people make it.

The evidence speaks for itself and you are so out of touch with reality its quite amusing.

Yes and according to his Religion he is a 'Bad' Muslim because he does not adhere to its literal teachings, on the other hand Bin Laden is revered as a 'Good' Muslim because he eats, breaths, and lives it to the letter.

Islamic Terrorist have carried out more than

8247

Deadly Terror Attacks since

You point is well noted.

But in recent history, Christianity (or a rare form of it) is also a cause of mayhem.

Take for example: Temple of Love church murders; Jonestown mass murder; countless abortion clinic bombings; gay retaliation beatings.

Of course, your response is: "These are not real Christians." That sounds similar to what many Muslims in the US say about the followers of Osama: "They are not true Muslims."

Excuse me...but your clinic bomber wasn't running around in the name of god.

Eric Robert Rudolph (born September 19, 1966), also known as the Olympic Park Bomber, is an American anti-abortion extremist and domestic terrorist who committed a series of bombings across the southern United States, which killed three people and injured at least 150 others. He declared that his bombings were part of a guerrilla campaign against abortion, what he describes as "the homosexual agenda," and perceived support for it from the United States government.

Rudolph's motive for the bombings, according to his April 13, 2005 statement, was political:

In the summer of 1996, the world converged upon Atlanta for the Olympic Games. Under the protection and auspices of the regime in Washington millions of people came to celebrate the ideals of global socialism. Multinational corporations spent billions of dollars, and Washington organized an army of security to protect these best of all games. Even though the conception and purpose of the so-called Olympic movement is to promote the values of global socialism, as perfectly expressed in the song "Imagine" by John Lennon, which was the theme of the 1996 Games even though the purpose of the Olympics is to promote these despicable ideals, the purpose of the attack on July 27 was to confound, anger and embarrass the Washington government in the eyes of the world for its abominable sanctioning of abortion on demand.

The plan was to force the cancellation of the Games, or at least create a state of insecurity to empty the streets around the venues and thereby eat into the vast amounts of money invested.

Temple of Love and Jonestown did themselves in,they didn't attack others because of their faith. If these are who you infer....
As for gays, usually its the Skinhead religion there brother...

(a rare form of it)?...where have you seen Christian's out to extract blood from those who refuse to bow down to Christ in the 21st century?

The best you can come up with is a few nut cases who chose to drink the poison that was given in free choice?

You dare to compare that to the genocide we see happening in this world in the name of Islam?

Your just as nutty as the jonestown koolaid drinkers.

Hey lilly, meet Gar!
