where this local giong to be located ? what if bob or paul or some other person gets voted in do they have to move?

This plan was concocted by the IEC, who is on the IEC? NOT ONE OFFICE HOLDING AMT, so Fleet service Clerks and three Ex-maint Presidents decided whats to happen to Line AMTs and Title II.

The Line Maint Presidents had no say in this.

Hopefully they rethink what they are doing, I like the idea of a single Local but IMO this plan is a deliberate attempt to make things worse. At the next round of negotiations there could be just two AMTs and 11 Fleet service Clerks deciding what we vote on.

So our elected TWU Presidents had no say but Ex Presidents did? Another way to circumvent the Democratic process of this so called Democratic union.
So who were these so called Ex-Maintenance Presidents?

Overspeed has all the answers. Maybe he can chime in and let us in on all the details.

TO: AA TWU LOCAL MEMBERS

RE: LINE LOCAL REORGANIZATION

JAMES C. LITTLE

International President

HARRY LOMBARDOwww.TWU.org

Dear Brothers & Sisters:

Since the filing of the AMR Bankruptcy, there has been a growing

concern as to the ability of Locals to continue to properly represent

their members. With the removal of the “Baker Letter” from within

the M!E contracts, this has become a reality. The Baker letter was

negotiated in 1993 (attached) to cover Local officers’ salaries at a

percentage of represented members on a per capita scale. During Self

Determination in 1999, it was negotiated to include the newly formed

line Local’s Presidents in this formula. In the recent round of

negotiations, the M/R negotiation committee decided to remove this

provision of the contract.

Today at the Presidents Council in Texas, it was announced that the

ATD and IAC believe with the removal of this provision that some

Locals that are no longer covered by the LOA will lack the resources to

properly represent their members. With this in mind, it has been

determined to ensure the future representation of the membership that

Locals 561, 562, 563, 564 and 565 will be merged to a single Local to

be known as Local 591. In addition, due to the similarities of the

workforce, Local 567 and the Dallas DWH maintenance base members

will be moved into Local 514. This will create two MJE Locals with

the size and resources to continue to represent its members and be

financially viable for future contract negotiations.

The following points highlight the additional moves that are required to

realign the proper members to the associated Locals:

• New Local 591 will incorporate all Title I and V from Locals 561,

562, 563, 564, 565, 510, 529, Title V 507

“We Move America”

TAESL gonna love this!!

Oh, TULE line maintenance remains under 514....WTF

Hahaha the Twu strikes again so funny I can't help but laugh. Can't wait to get the hell out so you folks can enjoy this shity company and union

Really? I thought this was your idea that you were pushing no less than 2 months ago? Open your mouth, give them the general idea, and presto, the TWU jumps at the chance to "smoke and mirror" change to prevent the membership from leaving and getting a new union.

This is just the next "appeasement" after the shaft that James C Little has offered in the past.

It doesn't matter this time though, AMFA will be representing us at AA soon enough.

Think about it guys. This is the Internationals way of getting rid of the local presidents that do not conform to there way of thinking or what they want.

After this debacle the TWU is going to pull we should see an increase of cards. Wait until the details come out. One line President? Really.

James C. Little always has been the best AMFA organizer known to man, give him a little more rope and this will all end.

TWU to consolidate locals as American Airlines shrinks their numbers (and quits paying the salaries of union officers)

It is all about the money. Not the best interest of the membership. If this will not work then watch our dues increase. Hopefully we will have rid ourselves of this disease festering communistic organization that calls themselves a union.
