There will be a lot of news on Wednesday. . . . .


Delta invites employees, investors and media to listen to a live webcast with Jerry Grinstein from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday. The webcast is part of an expanded meeting with Delta's officers and directors to share some of the elements of the recent Strategic Review that will help transform Delta's product, network and cost structure into a viable, customer-focused airline. The webcast can be accessed via http://www.delta.com/inside/investors/index.jsp. The online replay will be available until Oct. 8, at the same site shortly after the webcast is complete. Following the meeting, Delta leaders will be equipped with materials to begin sharing additional information with employees. Also, DNN will updated with highlights throughout the day.

We'll see Delta's plan in just a few hours and I think Hotel and a few other DL doomsayers will have no choice but to return to their lonely galleys when it becomes apparent that DL has a plan not only to turn itself around but also to grow and thrive in an industry where the carcasses of former has-beens will litter the landscape like the road from Baghdad to Fallujah.

Closing DFW and expanding SONG? Eliminating 7K jobs. Yep, DL is paving the way, unfortunately it just happens to be on the backs of the employees.
