US Airways Pilots Labor Thread 12/16-22

Question for the East. Do you think most east pilots would accept the Nic if there were provisions made for all East attrition?

    Business Week Article

In a recent episode of United Airlines' (UAUA) sad saga, a surreal company press release promised to "take actions to protect customers" (and, for what it's worth, other employees) from certain United pilots, who in July were staging a work slowdown. Cue Gershwin, and come fly the friendly...

    Eco Scandal

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/tag/eco-scandal A major airline is under fire from environmentalists for flying an aircraft across the Atlantic with only five passengers on board. The flight from Chicago to London meant that the plane, a Boeing 777, used 22,000 gallons of fuel. Friends of the...

    Continental VS WN

Actually I prefer an EMB145 to a 737 especially if you sit in the A seat and have both a window and aisle, a middle seat on a 737 is the worst!

AMR says reviewing ownership of AAdvantage, American Eagle

You are actually incorrect Continental holds the leases on all of Express Jet's airplanes. They were going to take 69 and have Chautauqua fly them. Express Jet kept the planes and now fly 18 of them for Delta and the rest under their own name. The losses are due to start up costs and were...

PHL: City of no 'brotherly' bag love

You must be new to the industry, these were NOT entry level jobs just a few years ago. It was a good paying career. You most certainly do get what you pay for! I wonder how much the company is really saving in the long run by paying fast food wages!

Ramp Rat Voting results second update

It was actually a No vote, I think you are referring to the concessionary contract of May 1995 shortly after we voted in the IAM. All of the groups had concessionary contracts on the table, but the FA's voted No and then all were yanked and never voted on.

Ramp Rat Voting results second update

US Airways fleet Service voted no on the 1998 contract, they went back to the table and brought us the improved, but still not great 1999 contract.

Fleet Service Members, How will you vote?

Tim, Don't forget about smaller Class 1 stations that are afraid of becoming a Class 2 station. They will vote yes by a wide margin.

Alaska Airlines new hire = nicotine test?

I watched a news program about a company that institued this policy. The interviewer asked the CEO "Isn't it true that banning overweight people would actually save more money than banning tabacoo users?" The CEO replied that is true and we would do it, but it is illegal to discriminate against...

    Express Jet

Of Course convention wisdom was it would only take one step by a major to end WN, didn't work out that way. Point to point on routes with no competion, it might just work, especially when revenue from Continental will still be there from the other 75% of their airplanes.
