That's right, it will be secret ballot. 700 is working for (us ) management to stir dicontent, did the same thing when he was a union rep in the companies biggest hub. Let the survivors decide,
stay home and watch I Love Lucy or something or get out the overtime list and start calling up your buddies. If the people don't like it let them decide.

Class 2 stations with high seniority: Will vote yes and not risk sending this back to the table and have PHL sell them out again. They will eat the big profit sharing check because they have been sold out before by their own.

Tim, Don't forget about smaller Class 1 stations that are afraid of becoming a Class 2 station. They will vote yes by a wide margin.

That's a good point. This t/a is interesting in that each station will see something different. If there is anything that could stop this from being ratified it is the profit sharing for 2007. Again, I think this deal represents a fair deal to the vast majority of workers and will be approved by a wide margin.

This will be interesting. The perfect divide and conquer that the IAM created. Nonetheless, I agree with those who realize this contract is dispicable, given the context of huge record profits and the $625 million arbitration case.

I never said this was a fair deal. It's grossly unfair to strip people of profit sharing retroactively back to January 2007. If you add up the numbers, this is a concession packaged up with IAM wrapping and sold as a 'win'. Only the IAM would do that.

What I said was that this deal represents itself as a fair deal to the majority, i.e., the majority voting yes I presume. I might be wrong about that but I believe the majority of workers will ratifiy this by almost 2-1. Only CLT will keep things from a total blowout.
I thought it couldn't get any worse than for you folks to share your profit sharing checks, without a choice, with those who aren't part of your contract, but to actually not even get a dime even when you were part of it, is truly a mind job but typical of IAM.

Personally, I fail to see the logic as to why fleet just doesn't get the IBT and continues to beat themselves over their head with the IAM's profanities.

Its all BS....send it back. If the arbitration wasnt worth trying the company wouldnt want the trade off.

If its won,west can still go to section 6 negotiations.It doesnt stop that.If the company wont include the west and east in a transition agreement after the arbitration is won if it is.There is section 6 for the west.The east will not have lost anything.They will have more cash in the end,and an amendable contract in 2009.....this company does not want 2 work groups in one union to go to section 6 under 2 agreements at the same time.I promise you that.

i think you see the logic we are faced with tim , i feel bad for the topped out class one East guys ,they will only get a two dollar raise and that's about it ... i can easily see why they fight as hard as they do .It's hard to tell someone hey your going to have to eat crow for a few years , sorry ... but maybe it's like that justin timberlake song , what goes around comes back around ....

If you had been the tiantic and you were the people who were on board that ship when it sank , everyone would have drowned because you would have climbed over each other and fought one another to get into the life boats no matter what the cost .

People have spoken about dignity , well with this contract we will get our DIGNITY back .... by that i mean we will bring everyone home , make the playing field equal again .... we're taking a hit ,there's little doubt about it , but it's what needs to do be done , now i know that there are many of you who are not team players , but i hope against hope that you remember what the word UNION means before it's too late.

All these PHL guys are crying about solidarity but the thing they threw off the bus a long time ago was solidarity. When PHL created second class stations, it assured that there would become a new majority. Suppers ready.

I am so tired of people on here that don't work here anymore and have vindictive agendas, spewing mistruths and misleading statements. I want the people out west to know that although it is true that the IAM is in bed with the company, the idea that it was the membership and not the company and the union that screwed the outlying stations is very misleading. Remember that the west was just negotiating a new contract and had no FINAL offer shoved up their A$$. They have not been put in the position that we had been in the past. The company and the union were good at and still are good at conquer and divide and we as the membership are only to blame for being so weak and mentally incompetent to see what was and still is being done to us. It is easy to sit back and blame this one and that one for what was done to the class 2 but the fear of losing your job got that last piece of crap voted in. We were told that there would be no other offer by Canale's ( a United guy ) people and if this was not voted on it would go to a Judge, but yet Canale told the United people in concessionary talks, to tell the company to shove it. United did not give up in percentages what the USAirways people did and it did not go to a judge. I haved voted no on every first offer because they have all been garbage. But yet we keep voting first offers in. We have shown in the past that we are weak enough and keep ourselves misinformed as to the reality of each situation that we have been put in. It is time for the membership to realize that if we don't join together and quit our infighting, and send this back with an overwhelming NO you can kiss any of your so called dignity goodbye. Voting for this total package is a clear sign that we will bend over even further for the next package. If you want to belong to a union then get united and make these thieves we call the IAM and the company show us more respect and bring us an offer that we can all agree upon. VOTE NO and send it back. Good luck to all!
