All the Demorats have to do, to raise the debt ceiling, is what they should have done when the GOP gave into their demands to stick it too the Evil Rich, during the "Fiscal Cliff Crisis".........................."SPENDING CUTS"!
Now, since the GOP not only reached across the aisle, but actually bent over backwards, the ball is in the Dems court! Let's see how long before they fumble it !

Doesn't matter who bent who over or how far, it's a whole new game, come Debt Ceiling time . Barracks already responsible for the downgraded credit rating of the U.S. !

I agree that cuts do need to happen but neither party will agree to anything substantive. I do find it humorous that when the republicans held both chambers of Congress and the WH for 6 years they seem unconcerned (Cheney even said deficits don't matter) and now they are concerned about the deficits.
Same argument with campaign finance reform. Each party is very concerned when they are in the minority when they cannot do anything about it.

First of all, I didn't know that Bush was still President, in 2009 !
Second, it doesn't matter if the debt ceiling was raised 89 times, before Barrack took over, what matters, is this: $16,333,886,700,900.00 of debt right now !

But now the republicans are really concerned. Before it was not to big of deal. Unfortunately for them, due to their lack of foresight and more importantly their hypocrisy, when they had 6 years to set an example and do something about it they chose to sit oon their a$$ with their Dem counterparts and do nothing.
Now they squeal like a stuck pig and they expect everyone to jump. They are part of the problem and do not even realize it. I love the GOP only slightly more than the DNV for their entertainment value.

Then why were people (republicans) complaining of the debt when it was lower? Both sides like to b!tch about the deficit and the debt but neither side is willing to do a damn thing about it when they have the chance to do it.
