What's new

14th Amendment

I thought Glen was just busting your balls when he asked if you knew what the debt ceiling was but apparently I gave you far to much credit.

You really have no idea what the debt ceiling pertains to, how it is related to the credit rating and how it is different from the deficit. How on earth do you carry on arguments when you have no idea what it is you are talking about?

As far as the previous debt and spending is concerned, Obama can ask for all the money he wants but he does not get anything unless Congress says he does. I believe there is some republican responsibility in there somewhere.

I think a more accurate statement regarding the spending would be that Congress from 2008 to 2012 has out spent Congress from 2000 to 2008.

Bush: Deficit 2000 : $5,774,063,612,000.00
Deficit 2008 : $9,255,384,100,000.00
------------------------------------------
Increase : $3,481,320,488,000 (8 years)

Barrack: Deficit 2008: $9,255,384,100,000.00
Deficit 2012: $16,431,617,400,000.00
-----------------------------------------
Increase: $7,612,216,700,000.00 (4 years)

So, Barrack has out-spent Bush, in half the time by 4 trillion, 130 billion, 896 million, 212 thousand dollars.....................I think he's raised enough debt and does not need a higher limit to shoot for !
Fuzzy math, the current increase is only $5 trillion,

It's never the Annointed One's fault................is it?

Spending ca be proposed by the POTS or by a member of the house. Congress must approve the spending. If you read the news and go back a few days you will see quite a few articles covering the Sandy relief bill. No one was yelling at Obama to sign the bill. They were yelling at Congress to vote on it.

Congress controls the spending. Bush was not the one who authorized the massive spending hurting his term other than to sign the budget that Congress passed

I am sorry that you do not understand how the budget and finance works but if you do not research anything or read anything its not our problem.

He goes off under the 14th and it will go the same as if he cut an EO for some God forbidden use of Presidential powers.

Since each of the 50 states plus DC and Puerto Rico are in charge of their own elections including the Presidential elections, how is he going to get all of them on board?
