14th Amendment

Easier to ignore him. One can get tired of explaining the same crap over and over and getting the same ignorant responses each and every time.

You explain over and over because you haven't a clue.

Can't handle the truth.....LOL

Your truth is the only truth even when proven wrong.

The 14th Amendment end around is a bit interesting. There are Constitutional Questions that would no doubt be answered.

Frankly I don't think either side has the required level of testosterone needed to even attempt such a manuever. The Republicans won't let it get that far and the Democrats won't pull the trigger if they did somehow get the opportunity.

WHY? The SCOTUS would no doubt get involved and no one can say for sure which way they'll go so no one will step up to that crap table as there WILL be a winner and a loser abd since the two parties are really one that can't happen.

Secondly, no matter where you stand a move like this may be the spark that starts the fire of a new revolution.

NO ONE has the stomach for this as it interferes with the division of the spolis of taxation.

I agree......I think they have weighed the part about getting along with the GOP for the next 4 years and what he wants to try and get done outweighs the maneuver.

How is it pointless when its an option that our lawmakers are talking about?

Your boy Quag's is the one you need to address, not Southwind, if you bothered to read what he responded to.
Can you believe this? A fellow leftist dissing the party line guy.

" White House press secretary Jay Carney has swatted down the idea of using the 14th Amendment to raise the debt ceiling, saying "this administration does not believe that the 14th Amendment gives the president the power to ignore the debt ceiling -- period." And outgoing Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner has said the Treasury doesn't have authority to prioritize payments; it can't pick and choose which bills to pay."

From various news sources and WhitE House press briefing.
