No What he is doing is trying to agitate. It's a funny thing about life on the gravy train. I've spent about 6 years of my work life on what I consider the gravy train. All I'll say is when that train comes to a screeching stop, Karma is one nasty broad.

There is nothing worse than an ancient union member who can retire comfortably, but doesn't want to give a job to an upcoming union member that will pay for his SSI! Solution: work until a day before you die with a butt load of money that will keep your beneficiaries living comfortably on your behalf. BRILLIANT!

Signals, Who are you referring too? bear, or myself? ------ Because if you are referring to me, I've been retired for over six years now. And frankly, there's nothing wrong with helping out your Grand kids if your able!

Aw c'mon Eric.
What's not to like about watching a steady stream of pleasure craft, (and some yachts) slipping slowly by thru the Very narrow channel @ about 2 mph DECORATED with young women (most scantily clad....AND some topless) on the bow of said water craft. Depending on the tide level(High), christ I could dam near exchange phone numbers with them, and they ALWAYS WAVE to the bridgetender.  A fellow colleague who was working down there before would use hand gestures (similiar to those of a person praying), and the obliging 'young BEAUTIES' would Naughtily REMOVE thier TOPS ! !
 
All 'that' plus $30 an hour ($45 for OT)...PLUS a UNION, no uniform BULL SHITE, shave or No shave, haircut or NO hair cut, I mean ....do what ever you want (NO Theft or illegal substances of course) just keep the Federal log book impecable, One button for siren warning, another to OPEN and one to CLOSE the bridge.

I actually couldn't care less when anybody chooses to retire. It's their own business and to each his own. My problem is when people BRAG about it.
