AC is on the east side of the house under a decent shade tree so it only gets late afternoon sun. I was thinking about setting up a micro mister on the coils but was not sure if that would work or not. I definy need a attic fan. When I painting my ceiling I felt hot spots near the walls where the roof pitch was low. Added insulation will benefit me as well. I am told by the wife that this will be the house we die in so I am fine making investments that will pay off long term.

As for the fan. Im debating between a roof vent or a gable fan. I saw a roof vent that is solar and Thermos controlled. $250 with a 30% tax credit.

777. Keep in mind that $220.is July, 100+ temps and a pool on a 40yr old home. And the AC is may be a 8 SEER. I thought that was pretty good.
