RIP

I remember seeing them as a kid. My dad had one that you pulled the paper off the from of the picture, let it develop and if you liked it, coat it with some sort of preservative. When they came out with the last gen Polaroids that was just the bomb. Press the button and out pops a picture. I always loved watching the picure develop before my eyes.

I guess it's progress. I am sure some lamented the passing of the old glass slides that were used in the late 1800's. Now we have point and click with instant grtification. We can reproduces them as much as we want with no loss of quality and print our own pics at home if we so choose. I must admit I do have a place in my heart for the old stuff. I like hearing the click of a shutter on a SLR. My car is 22 yrs old and I will keep her as long as I can maintain her, same for the wife lol. I still BBQ with real wood, not gas (I cannot for the life of me get the same flavor). I work wood with chisels, sand paper and hand planers. Glue.finger joints and dowles when possible. Working on mortise and tendon but that is a PIA. New is not always better I guess.
