A new day has arrived

Not to pretend that it didn't happen or it might have been a misprint, but a nickel a share profit at an outfit that was all but left for dead impresses the h**l out of me.

Say what you want about the old U or the new management, but things might just work out this time. A profit of any kind with $70 oil is something to marvel.

There will be the inevitable posts exclaiming a one-time accounting fluke for profitibility, but I can point to just as many charges in the past related to the seemingly endless morass of downsizing that was taking place not even a full year ago.

Time to celebrate? Not yet.

But I'm looking forward to the future here for the first time in years and in the morning... I'm makin' waffles.

20 years of mismangement can not be turned around in 10 months. Give DP and crew at the sand castle some time. They have a huge job ahead of them still. But they are definitely on the right path.

Be careful, you'll be accused of drinking kool-aid if you agree with management in any way whatsoever.

I do think Doug will treat the employees well. Of couse, employees wont' get everything they ask for, and they will think that some things they don't get are completely unfair. But those are the negative types that just need to go away anyway.
