Here's an idea for someone from Tempe to act-on.

Give or sell little travel toiletry packs in flight to the pax. Deodorant/shampoo/toothpaste etc.

Advantages: Pax can still do carry-on...generates good will...added convenience...raises $$

Disadvantages- some weight will be involved...it would need proper promotion (but this could be a plus)

just something else for flight attendants to sell......oh joy!!!! <_<

Hey, with each Skymall purchase you get one! Or, when you sign up for the Signature Visa Card you get one!

TSA doesn't want these items onboard. Which part are you missing?
Actually, the TSA doesn't want the passenger to bring those items onboard. If the airline provides (or sells) it, that's a different story - just like the water, soda, wine, alcohol.

In the short term, getting sonething like this stocked could be a problem. In the longer term (if the restrictions continue), passengers will adjust for the most part and any market for this will largely disappear.

Rather than pack all that stuff why not just hit the store when you get to where you're going and buy the little sized stuff for your toiletries needs. Been doing that for years and it's always worked.

And add up the cost for purchasing all this SHITE everytime you step off a plane. It is not uncommon for me to be in multiple cities in 1 week for work.

So now I'm going to have to buy toothpaste, deodorant and cologne in every city I potentially have to be in, use it once or twice, then throw it away. Then start the process all over again the next trip.

It may be fine for Ma & Pa and the Kettlettes to have to purchase their personal items, but I don't have the time usually when I'm flying all over the country for work.

And now the TSA has added more time to my already "squeezed" schedule as it is.

My forecast for this debacle......more people driving and telecommuting. Unnecessary business travel is going to be reviewed once again. Corporate America is going to watch this closely and you can bet there will be less people on planes if this ridiculous situation continues.

Time to buy some stock in some toothpaste companies, bet they are gonna have to step-up their production...

Or maybe people will just use baking soda...

Sadly, I agree with you.

What would be nice is if there were some co-marketing (i.e. ad revenue possibilities) for some of the companies like P&G, Suave, etc etc to have the airlines create toiletry samplers to give out during longer duration flights (maybe mid-con/transcons) or some heavy leisure markets (say mid-atlantic to Florida). Instead of the little bottles, they could do it in the single use foil pouches. It would be good PR for those companies, some ad revenue for the airlines. Gee, put them in a bag with an ad on it (maybe a barf bag?). Make one for men, one for women. You could have Trojans provide a condom for the men, one of the tampon makers put one in for women.

WRT the RON kits, I've gotten my share of them when my luggage didn't show. I still use one of the blue USAir bags in my laptop bag for my medicine and other toiletries.

It's all a plot created by Proctor & Gamble and WalMart !!

and while the airlines are still in business the non-revs are going to have a field day....

Do it now this will be short lived. But yes traveling and commuting will be easy for a while. Hopefully not too long we've been hit with too much crap.

Most decent hotels offer to provide you with any items such as toothpaste, shaving cream etc. that you may have forgotten (or were forbidden) to bring. Just ask for it.
