Why not, she broke the law didnt she? Limit was suprised that many did not feel that what these people are accused of was that reprehensible and stated that he/she was against all illegal activity. Well what Rosa Parks did was illegal, should she have been punished? Some would argue that the process allowed her to challenge the law in the courts and wait for remedy there thus she should have been punished regardles of whether she was right or wrong. So, was Rosa Parks right to break the law? If you were a juror would you vote for conviction?



That in itself makes the law inequitably enforced. If you can get out of the penalty because you have the means then its not equitable.



Sure, AA buying TWA, Air Cal, Reno Air, Trans Carib, London routes off TWA, carib routes from EAL, aircraft purchases, buyback of stock, Goldhoffers, new furniture for the executive offices etc etc.

I give up. You have lost your grip on reality if you think that is a valid comparison.

Do you have any evidence that the money involved was pre-tax? If so I am sure the IRS would be very interested in talking to you. My guess is that it more tripe that you have made up.

Not at all surprising that the folks justifying this unethical activity are the same lot who think sleeping on the job is perfectly acceptable, and stealing diamonds out of customer baggage was a justifiable response to the 2003 pay cuts....

I didn't say it wasn't wrong. I just don't believe a man with over 30 years on the job should lose it over a mistake like this. There have been people hawking investment scam's here at AA since I have been here.

Your are taking liberty's by stating stealing diamonds and steeling from the company is acceptable in my eye's . But then again I guess I should have considered the source.

From what I hear , it was JPMorgan who informed AA of this.. Seems that when multiple people request large sums of money at the same time in the same area, red flags go up.. Same as FMLA fraud.. Thats a federal thing, but AA will still investigate you using there own PI....Happened at Tulsa several times...

A mistake?... Isn't that when you overlook something unintentionally or make a bad decision out of ignorance for the consequences?

Forgetting to punch out is a mistake. Misjudging the distance needed to stop a Goldhofer is a mistake. Announcing comp drinks over the PA for a full flight to LAS is a mistake...

This wasn't unintentional. I will probably agree these guys had no idea of the consequences, but there's no way a reasonable person couldn't know that it's wrong to claim the investment house you're going in on with five other people will be your primary residence.

That's no more of a mistake than it is to drive under the influence or to cheat on your spouse...

Corporations are taxed on the revenue they have left over after paying for what it feels it needs to run, individuals have to pay their taxes based on total revenue and then see if they can survive on whats left, so all the purchases a corporation makes for the use of the business are pre tax sinnce it lowers the taxable revenue. If an airline buys an airplane all the expense of that aircraft purchase and operation is deducted from the taxable revenue the corporation will have to pay, if I buy a car I have to pay for it with monies that I already paid tax on.
