Obama's Middle Class Tax Cut May Not Survive Budget
The President's Budget Chief Says Senate Dems May Scrap Tax Cut

President Obama's budget chief hinted Wednesday that the president's signature campaign issue -- a middle-class tax cut -- will not likely survive a budget battle with Democrats on Capitol Hill.

On a conference call with reporters in advance of the president's trip to the Hill to speak before the Senate Democratic caucus, Office of Management and Budget Director Peter Orszag indicated that, while 98 percent of the budget mark-ups in the House and Senate are on par with the administration's budget blueprint, some campaign trail promises, like middle-class tax cuts, may get left on the cutting room floor.

Obama's middle-class tax cut is locked in place for the next two years as part of the stimulus package he signed into law last month, but Orszag told reporters today that the White House will have to use those two years to figure out how to keep that tax cut in place for middle-class families beyond 2010.

More of the same...lies lies lies

So how did he break his campaign promise?

If, in 2011, the tax cuts are not there, then you can come back and whine about the President, whose policies you completely disagree with, did not comply with one of them...

Sorry Tech, your hope and change went out the window. And you fell for it hook line and sinker!

Care to elaborate? Or is the venom spewing going to continue unabated?
Of course it will. It's evident that this guy spends all of his free time scouring for articles that look even slightly negative towards Obama. He was probably one of the people that called people a traitor when they disagreed with Bush.

Wait one minute.

Is this from that dreaded mainstream media that you rail against regularly?

You have so many positions you should be a porn star...

I am now certain that you are the official laughing stock of this blog. :p

Well the mainstream media is OK just so long as it's YOUR agenda they support. This is how the Neo Fascist Conservatives operate.

Neo Fascist Conservatives have always operated in this manner. Complaining of a liberal bias (which does exist) then when someone throws them a bone of agreement the response is "See even the Liberal Media gets this one" They are nothing if not predictable.

I'll post about the Neo Fascist Liberals when appropriate
Bob, I am not sure if that comment was directed at me.

I do not support the notion of a "mainstream media". Facts are facts. I do not let someone decide what they are for me. As I posted earlier. I do not watch much TV. I am a reader. I grow weary of the cherry picking that takes place in our current society when it comes to presenting factual argument/debate.

May I interject?
He may sucker everyone in with this diatribe but while nobody is watching he'll stick it to you with passed on cap and trade taxes(if it flies)...and every other tax that isn't aimed at first on us but will be passed on down.SO whats the friggin' difference whether he says middle class isn't getting taxed....he got you anyhow/anyway you cut it.

Did you notice how quickly he signed his stimulus bill??
Had all those some 8500 pork items in it didn't it??
You think that isn't a bribe for future support regardless of which side of the aisle they come from?
Bet me it never comes into question....

Uh, it really doesn't take much "Scouring" on the net to find negatives about Obama and the "Loons" in D.C.

In fact it's becoming more and more prominent !

Yes, the same main stream media, that fell for Obamas promises, just like people who were sitting on the fence, hook, line and sinker!
And now that Obama and the Demorats are showing their true colors, the halo over Obama is starting to lose is luster and people are starting to notice that electing Obama is the worst blunder this country has made in a very long time !

I guess raising "FEDERAL" taxes on power commodities, like natural gas, oil and electricity, doesn't count and doesn't apply to the middle class?

Take your blinders off people !
