Air Wisconsin and delays reasons

Has anyone else noticed that nearly every Air Wisconsin delay is due to "cabin servicing". Especially when the real reason an aircraft swap. Talking about the delay reason in flifo, not the actual coding in DECS?

They mask there delays or lack of posting delays because of accountability. Air Wisconsin has a member on the board of directors and gives US cash on a regularly bases. The are shielded

In my corner of the universe, your US Express is serviced by Piedmont, which gave US Air a good name. Wisconsin served NorthWest which is now Delta and they have their own group of young screw-ups to worry about. But Air Wis-gone-son still services United. And I have to say that I witnessed the height of incompetency. With a five barn length of opened space a Push Back managed to run into a mobile belt cart...or whatever you call them. As if nothing happened life went on. <_< 🙄

Air Wisconsin has always served United (not Northwest) until 2004 when they were kicked to the curb. US Airways needed money to emerge from bankruptcy and Air Wisconsin had it. US Airways doesn't own any part of Air Wisconsin. As far as their delays, I don't have a clue.

You are correct. Air Wisconsin has a decent sized ground handling operation including a large ground handling presence at IAD. It's business model like Piedmont is flying and ground handling.

Air Wisconsin has an admirable record in comparison to Mesa and Trans States. In PIT, we're lucky to have 4 of 6 Trans States flights actually depart every day without cancelling due to maintenance, and PIT is a small station. In the past 2 weeks, Trans States has had to charter a Cessna 310 twice to ferry parts/mechanics from STL, and in 1 of those cases, they couldn't fix the plane for over 26 hours.

The biggest problem with Air Wisconsin is that their aircraft are not on the ground long enough to fix niggling problems such as inop APU's and broken seats, so they routinely take delays due to air starts and unintended oversales. They ferry aircraft to ORF quite frequently to keep their FAA logbooks up to date.

Mesa has crew problems more than anything else, and more often than not, that is an easier fix than mechanical issues. Until they figure out how to staff their lines of flying, they will continue to be the worst offender in the on-time performance category for US.
