i am currently in the military, enlisted, but used to train towards my commercial certs in college. anyway i have the opportunity to have prk done for free but am leery bc i dont know how the airlines view this kind of surgery.
i know our crew chiefs can have the surgery and still fly, and accordign to them we get prk done bc it doesnt have the after effects of light halos that is possible from lasik.
however i dont want to get out of the military and finish my flying and then find out airlines frown on this or just flat out dont allow it.
anyone have any firsthand experiences or knowledge at all on this?

Go to the FAA website faa.gov and find out from faa medical what is being allowed. The last time I looked there Lasik was the only FAA appoved eye surgery. Radial Kerototomy(where they make several cuts in your eyeball) was NOT approved.
