Airline Safety Outsourced

I remember the standard was 150 pound when I got my tickets.....That in itself back in 83' made me wonder....I don't think I ever saw a 150 pound American....My instructor told us that it was an average of all the fat ass'd boarders....I said 'yea,right'...

I seem to recall reading somewhere that auto manufactures have had to increase the width of the vehicles to accomidate the fat asses in the US auto market.

The part about the manuals only being in English is funny. I know a guy who runs a charter company. He said you can pretty much order a manual in any language you want. Not like the other countries who own the aircraft only have English speaking mechanics.

Have you ever tried to use a CMM that was ‘translated’?
My bet would be ‘NO’ or you would not be making the generic/ignorant statement that you did.

Airbus does a pretty decent job with the AMM but if you have to work from a 3rd party ‘From Somewhere’ CMM, it’s a crap shoot. England and Germany does a very good job and France is getting better. Other than that, ‘Good Luck!’ 🙄
Considering my minuscule experience with working trying to use translated documents, I can only imagine how a ‘Latin’ based language is translated into the various Asian languages.

True, it is getting better, but no where near a comfortable level (at least for myself).

I can see how ‘In your world’ that everything that is FAA/JAA approved is golden, but it ain’t so.

Its demi-god....

Don't forget...Reagan started the union busting movement in aviation....couldn't have done

it without a little help from the membership.Just like outsourcing....

Years ago I would have agreed with you on the union busting. But what the traffic controllers did WAS totally illegal because they, like me and others, by law can't strike. It was Corporate America that took it and used it as a loophole to bust unions.
