Over on Flyertalk a couple of hours ago, a new user registered as ontheinside and made this post:

Announcement being made tomorrow in NYC... top NY area travel agencies and corporate accounts, along with a limited number of press to be in attendance. It is a breakfast. Depending on your definition of "big news"... you may want to pay attention! Horton and CCO will be making the announcement.

- New F Flagship amenity kits coming in Dec/Jan

- AA wants to run Korean out of DFW-ICN market

- Close to announcing service to IST

- Flagship F will begin a "wine tasting" program in 1Q13

- New branding will be out before the end of the year

- AA's position on a merger will become clear by Thanksgiving

- AA/B6 relationship to become, um, closer

- AE pulling out of some small Carib markets and will codeshare with TBA carrier

- New AAdvantage tier possible - between PLT and EXPLT

Within a half hour, the details were edited out and a while later, the OP made further edits.

On a different site, where this is also posted, the administrator noted that there are lot of AA IP addresses logged in, perhaps in search of the poster.

Run Korean out of the DFW-ICN market? How? Lower the price of the turkey gristle sandwich by a dollar in coach ?

There's definitely a new livery -- AA's first 773 is already out on the ramp at Everett.

Of course AA would like to run KE out of DFW.... any Asian carrier has the potential to suck a lot of life out of a US carrier.

IST? A Star hub? uh huh

The only way a closer relationship with B6 will be beneficial to AA will be if there is a merger.... anything else is simply outsourcing of AA jobs based on simple codesharing since two US carriers cannot have antitrust immunity. The same rules and situation applies to AS with AA or DL and UA with US etc..... domestic codeshares with other large jet carriers are strongly opposed by pilot unions for very good reason.

So, back to the topic. Where is this suppose announcement??? I've heard nothing all day and night. Hmmmm.

Maybe ontheinside has as much knowledge of the inside scoop as some of the experts here. No doubt there will be pages of explanations of why the announcement wasn't made on time. Swamt, you're just not looking at the big picture. These things require delicate timing. It's like the moving rows of seats. It takes time to come up with an explanation that assures that management can not be held accountable for anything.

jimntx,

You left out one thing; management (or their subcontractors) can not be held accountable for anything.
