it unbelievable some of these idiots will ***** and complain and accomplish nothing. they can demand and i understand that but what actions do we take to get where we want to be. at some point you have to put **** aside and realize the enemy of my enemy could be an ally if not a friend.
And just because you disagree with others’ opinions does not make them idiots.

I would drop the demand for the iampf. I would go for the swa plus 7 Parker promised highest plus 7 then 3 hold him to his original 7. Then get the 7 weeks of vacation. Get caps on insurance that members can live with. But the remark were wanting to hire our kids and grandkids. That’s my problem they want work on items that get us more pay. And then time off quality of life. They need to come to a scope agreement of what we have now with tweeks. But I never here the association mention pay and benefits just trying to protect people not even born. That has never worked for us. I would work some bridge to retirement also. But I would get pros at the table lawyers financial people that know . People that can read interpret the language and make sure no loop holes like we have had in past. And I would give updates that included every proposal counter proposals both sides . Signed by both party’s of who was actually in the room. Since the association want release the proposals we have no idea what was talked about. So we are left in the dark. Sorry a video dose not do it for me. I want it in writing so I can and others read side by side comparison. To where the company is and where the union is. I would ask for retro and parity of other airlines as they get raises. Either get a profit Sharing compared to delta United are southwest . If not get a bigger raise. But since the association dose not listen to it’s members. Then I can come on here and *****. If they listened to us then I would not be bitching. But they have there agenda and that is the iampf. And hiring grandkids who aren’t even born yet. I have a big problem with that. Take care of the people all ready paying dues. And get it done;

What exactly are you going to do to help get this done? Do you think sitting on the sidelines throwing stones helps to get your agenda completed?

I disagree. Run like hell from these Pensions. Get a nice matching 401K where you manage the money not some stranger that you don't even know and hoping and praying he made the right moves with all your money. Why in the world is United throwing their money out the door on something that will just again later need to be saved again as more and more employees and employers move away from the Pensions and going with the traditional 401K's. This is why AA is being begged to get back into these IAM pension funds, so they could try surviving them, but they will just fail again at a later date, watch and learn, it happens every year, smaller and smaller participation until one day GONE...
i dont want anything to do with the iam pension.

im as frustrated as anyone, quite frankly i can finally applaud the twu for confronting isom, it takes a set of balls to get up there and speak in front of a crowd and do what they did. feel free to accomplish the feat yourself at anytime.its easy to seat anonymously behind a key board stand up and accomplish something. the onle things they understand is losing money and public embarrassment. the question on sars and force majure was classic isom did not want to hear that.

theres confronting and then there's yelling rhetoric in an unprofessional way for the camera. As far as force majure, hasn't that always been in every contract, isn't it impossible to expect to never have a layoff again in a cyclical business like airline travel, especially if we are to have a bloated work force. It's a BS argument and nothing to never sign a contract because of it.

We are in the error of trump where going bankrupt is not seen as a failure, and as we all know in bankrupt the company can do whatever it wants, so whatever we sign AA can always adjust in bankruptcy.

im 58 and i got 4 more years. im guessing apa tears up the company with more greed and then the company files bankruptcy again with $8 billion in hand.
The employees are just miserable working here and it simply isnt going to last. With apa entering negotiations, the company always makes sure it limits profits.

No contract will be signed without force majure, that you can bank on.Petersons outburst and rude stammering towards isom when he didnt answer his question quick enough is not the way to go.We at fleet on the iam side have a lot of jobs that could be given to envoy tommorow. What i would do might be unpopular but its the only way to go that being start bending on some items such as medical for LUS.

Dear United team member, We are pleased to share some good news about steps United has taken to strengthen the IAM National Pension Fund and protect your retirement benefits. Over the last several weeks, United has met with the IAM to discuss the issues facing the IAM National Pension Fund. As a result of our collaborative discussions, United and the IAM have jointly agreed to the NPF’s Preferred Schedule of the Rehabilitation Plan. This means that United chose to increase the Company’s financial contribution to ensure your future monthly benefit at age 65 will not be reduced because of the Rehabilitation Plan. United does not make this commitment lightly. It reflects the loyalty of the company and its leaders to the men and women who have worked so hard to ensure the success of the airline we love. IAM District 141 Union Representatives have been briefed by representatives of the IAM National Pension Plan and will be in the field meeting with employees and answering questions over the comingweeks. Contact your IAM District 141 office for more details. In addition, the IAM NPF has created avideo to help explain the Rehabilitation Plan in more detail. If you have additional questions, please contact the IAM NPF directly at 866-232-1296

Will AA make the same commitment to guarantee your Retirement security as well?

This is precious...Why wouldn't the teamsters support the TWU? After all, they were in cahoots to keep AMFA out!
It's too bad the mighty teamsters can't reverse the outsourcing at UPS!

Answer the question dfw gen asked you.

I'll give credit to Samuelson for confronting Isom. He made a couple of good points, but had a couple of bad moments also. The bankruptcy factor can not be over looked. It's a management tool that has proven to be effective. This mgmt team here strikes me as one that would do under handed things to better their position. Such as buying back all that stock and not paying down the debt. New people negotiating on both sides may help. They have hit a dead end. Somethings got to give here.

Neither side is giving in. You have Hoffa and Quill trying to stop all outsourcing ..Sorry, ain't gonna happen! Company most likely will not budge on scope and medical.
Never say never and I hope I am wrong. But at this point in time, I doubt we get a contract anytime in the near future.
