American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

I am still working on finalizing this website but it is currently active and will be the source for information on the AMFA Card Drive

http://www.amfa-aa.com

will this AMFA card drive be encompassing the IAM and TWU mech and related Association members, or are we just looking to have AMFA represent the LAA mech and related as part of the association?

Do we know if TULE is looking for a change in representation and will the IAM members have a vote if LAA members try and brake away from association?

The TWU letter from July 2018 made it seem like we were closer to a contract then as opposed to now.

I don’t think there will be any more negotiations this year and then AA will be busy with the APFA and APA. The more valued employees (based on past experiences).

Maybe it’s time for a union vote, it’s not like we are close to a contract or any closer then we were 18 months ago. Based on the past couple of Association updates.

Tul will get plenty of signed cards. The unknown will be how new card signers

The APFA already started negotiations, they had an early opener and have already TAed six articles.

look at all the articles we have T.A.'d!

can we just dump the association its clearly not working. its communication is non-existent, and its a little more concerned with self preservation then its membership.

The TWU-IAM Mechanic and Related (M&R) Association currently holds the NMB Certification of Representation. To qualify for a Representational Dispute Election, 50% +1 of combined number of LAA and LUS M&R employees will be required to sign cards. The NMB ruled that the new American Airlines combined from LAA and LUS is a single carrier prior to Association certification. The TWU’s and IAM’s certificates of Representation were both extinguished. The TWU and IAM Labor Unions are defined as “Labor Partners” to the Association to collect dues and administrators of Labor Contract(s) which should’ve become a single Joint Collective Bargaining Agreement long ago.

Tulsa base employees are supporting this AMFA card drive which initiated from DFW.

As far as NMB is concerned American Airlines is a single Airline and it is unfortunate that we are still divided in Union Speak because there are two unions but only one Airline. We need to unify and eliminate this dual union disaster from our profession and careers!

I hope someone did their homework on this upcoming drive. ORD on the AMP drive was a disaster thanks to Russ. The IAM guys had little support if any. Many line guys refused thinking it would set negotiations back to day one.
Title 2 is virtually nonexistent.
How will it be different this time around?

Here is a reminder. According to Peterson, Danker, and Reeves we were close to JCBA in July 2018 a full year and half has passed and we still know nothing more now than we knew then. And they claimed that the membership would be satisfied with their work. Not only is the entire membership of this Association, It is time for the Mechanic and Related group to make the change and separate from , Fleet Service, IAM, TWU, and the Association.
AMFA cards will be available starting next week.

Great to hear!
Let the AMFA haters try and put out negative crap this time around. If they do, just throw out the fact that Horizon just came back to AMFA firing the teamsters. United wants AMFA back so they can fire the teamsters too. And AMFA has recently just finished two contracts with positive outcomes for both SWA and Alaska. With the new agreement at SWA with AMFA we are yet again adding maint all over the place with new hangers and maint in 6 new coming cities so tell all the haters to pack sand if AMFA isn't bringing in house more maint than any other out there for right now. AMFA and SWA worked together to get in more maint and maint facilities and basically doubling the number of mait hangars we have now to 12 by the time it is all said and done. If ya need more info get a hold of National or Brett and they can tell ya the locations of all the added hangars, some being built right now with the biggest one (6 bays) in Houston.
Fantastic to hear the drive is back on. And please don't stop the drive even if a new contract comes through, take it all the through guys, you will not be disappointed, good luck and Godspeed...
