He's upset his blood pressure is probably through the roof not worth it since it will be business as usual with him at AA

Actually no. Kevin A is just upset that I’m calling him out as a fraud. That he really hasn’t done anything except play on the Internet.

And constantly criticize Unions of all shape and sizes.

The Weez is feeling bittersweet he did question your stipend.I would imagine the unions won't have such big "balls" going forward

They certainly need to get away from the tough guy mentality.

You'd hope it turns from representatives telling Members what they want to hear to being more of an organization that earns their way.

Telling Members what they want to hear is good for getting elected but it's bad in the long run because to survive they turn to blaming others or point fingers as they can't deliver what's promised.

Well thank God 700 you’re here to “Weez-splain” it to us all.

Got any thoughts on how to get us out of this flat spin, or has that text not come yet?

I don’t think I care anymore actually. Might be time to cash in my chips. Take the IGM approach and hope it all lasts till I croak?

I make no apologies for calling lazy representation out.

Not for nothing, in my experience, it’s always been the “breakroom tough guys” that cave first. Ironic that teachers and nurses are at the forefront of labor fighting back.

Hey, why not? You’re in a hub. It’s be easy.

Sorry bro I really am just calling it as I see it. You need to do just a little bit more than play on Facebook and Airline Forums if you really want Representation as you claim.

You didn’t even make that last meeting 100 miles from you a few weeks back? Were you working OT? Lmao.

I wasn’t born in a Hub. I was WISE and SMART enough to move to one. (Actually 2)

IGM because I went out and grabbed it.

I put in the effort.

Look, we allowed this to happen, and it’s up to us to fix it. No one’s coming to save us.

You may be right, but internally we have to get back to being a union and not a political organization.

The unions need to get their collectivist act together. Far too many six-figure people, and even at the local levels demonstrate too much favoritism such that those members not with the clique begin to question paying dues. If dues paying becomes truly voluntary, then the unions run the risk of becoming financially insolvent unless they appear to be truly representative of all members and beyond reproach.

However, in an environment for which pricey meals, cronyism, nepotism, expensive hotels, daily allowances, separate pensions, exorbitant salaries, private jets, etc. are considered to be acceptable since the days of mafia influence, I doubt there will be many high-minded, philosophical, ethically-introspective types to demonstrate leadership and change the culture, especially while waving the union-paid credit card at a nearby convention jiggle joint.

Either the union needs to clean-up its leadership and provide competent representation, or get ready to start downsizing the lifestyle while looking for a safety vest and knee pads.

I rarely-if ever-work OT.

I think both go hand in hand? A worker’s (or the group’s) best interests aren’t restricted to just the workplace.

If nobody pays no union you could lose everything why would anyone chance that for just a few bucks thats why I think everyone is overreacting. Could could could but doubtful

There are already pockets of this with Wisconsin being the model.

When an organization has more expenditures than income it will fail. We have smaller Locals that can't afford to do an arbitration. The airline knows that and squeezes them That could now happen on a larger scale.

If the machinery gets clogged up it becomes useless.

Weez if FL said you didn't need car insurance to drive you'd still get it wouldnt you?

Everyone is missing the point of this.

You could have the perfect union but when Members realize they can get represented even without paying dues a large percentage will opt out. Especially the younger Members who don't yet appreciate the time of unions in history.

Wisconsin under Walker was a preview of what life under Trump would be like, and life under Act 10 is a great preview of what Janus may mean nationally.
