American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

why is that? because the company can moan and groan to the mediator about dl ready reserve and/or ua pt numbers?

ok...

and the assoc. wouldn't moan and groan about aa's PS compared to dl's profit sharing or that ua works it's RJs in it's hubs?

so, it either works both ways or it doesn't work at all.

the company's stingy PS formula is something that they don't want touched.

NMB is there to get a deal

Not to try and make a fair deal just a deal.

If we have more employees than other airlines they'll use that to try and sway a deal based on those types of economics.

In 2010,we were told by the Mediator that all of corporate America moved away from offering Retiree Medical. Inferring that was a lost cause for us.

ok...and we'll try to use the facts that other airlines pay much more generous contractual/or not, profit sharing and work RJs in their hubs.

if it works one way, it has to work the other.

what i'm trying to convey is to find aa's weak spot(s). hint or even tell them you'll go after it. to me, the company knows (and brags...even giving preliminary figures) of how much more $$ the company will be raking in in the near term. credit card deals and further synergies.

the company wants to protect it's mountain of profits, not share a larger portion with us.

Know what?

that you are realistic on the lus insurance issue...though, he wouldn't call you realistic.

if im in one of those stations then i dont want to believe some of the few remaining posters here saying that the union holds all the cards. its goin to be announced.....then rescinded pending a jcba. im almost certain.

At the very least, it's a card they could try to use.

you'd think so. NYer seems to be petrified of us being exposed for what we have and dl/ua don't have.

i understand that, but it works both ways.
i dont think it works both ways unless you are talking about an impasse and peb in about 6 years.
There simply is no card in the union hand other than to say no. That "no" card is substantual but it will be a fight that will certainly mean casualties. im all for it but im uncomfortable with Sito when he gets pushed by the company. he has already demonstrated he is a pushover and signs for less than what is originally offered.

6 years? no, i'm with others that believe we'll get a deal before this gets ugly, especially publicly.

the stocks further falls, GE can purchase us for sh!ts & giggles and get rid of johnsen and parker and isom. i don't think they'd like that kind of outsourcing.

i dont think this goes too far either but thats when real mediation kicks in. this deal will be months, not years.

Its going public tommorow isnt it?

i'm not trying to run a union and i know that the majority of those cuts are AMT, o/h.

and where are we losing lavs?
Are they going to save the jobs or sell them down the river like the IAM did to LUS cleaners.
